clikmeclikme ("the app") is a tally counter for iPhone. This page says, in plain language, what the app does and does not do with information about you.
The short version: clikme does not collect, store, transmit or share any personal data. There are no accounts of our own, no analytics, no tracking, no advertising and no servers. The only thing that leaves your phone is the count itself, into your own iCloud account, and we never see it.
Your count
- The only thing the app keeps is the number on its display. It is stored on your phone, in the app's own storage, and, when the phone is signed in to iCloud, mirrored to your own iCloud account through Apple's key-value storage, so that it comes back after a reinstall and is shared between your iPhones.
- That copy is in your iCloud account, under your Apple ID and Apple's privacy policy. It is not sent to us or to anyone else, and we have no way to see it: the app has no server, and iOS moves the count between your devices on its own.
- With no iCloud account signed in, the count stays on the phone only. Like any app's data, it is then included in the backups your phone makes, under Apple's own terms, and it is removed when you delete the app.
Motion sensors
The app reads the phone's accelerometer and gyroscope so that the object on the screen can feel the phone move: shake the phone and it swings, tilt it and it hangs a little. These readings are used at the moment they are taken to move the picture, and are neither stored nor sent anywhere. iOS does not ask for a permission for these sensors, and the app uses no other sensor, camera, microphone or location.
Haptics
The click you feel comes from the phone's Taptic Engine. No data is involved.
Analytics, tracking and advertising
The app contains no analytics, advertising or tracking code of any kind, first-party or third-party. It does not use the Advertising Identifier (IDFA) and does not track you across apps or websites. It makes no network requests of its own; the copy of the count in your iCloud account is carried by iOS, not by the app.
Data we hold about you
None. The app has no accounts and no servers, so there is no personal data for us to store, sell or disclose. Your count is in your own iCloud account, not with us.
Children's privacy
The app collects no personal information from anyone, including children.
This website
This site is a static page with no cookies, analytics or trackers. The demonstration counter on the home page keeps its number in your browser's local storage only, for your own browser, and never sends it anywhere.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new "last updated" date.
